NEW ROCHELLE – A 48-year-old New Rochelle man suffered a slash wound on his face as he fended off a would-be robber on Wednesday.
New Rochelle Police said the victim walked into the emergency room at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital at 2 p.m.
He said he had been accosted by an unknown man as he entered his property in the area of Badeau Place. A struggle ensued as the suspect attempted to grab the victim’s wallet. The suspect then pushed the victim and slashed him across the right side of his face with an unknown object.
The suspect, who fled on foot, is described as a white or Hispanic man, medium build, wearing light blue jeans, sneakers, a camouflage jacket with a blue hoodie underneath.
