Casino restaurant worker tests positive for COVID-19

MONTICELLO – An employee at a restaurant at Resorts World Catskills has tested positive for the coronavirus, Sullivan County Public Services confirmed on Wednesday.

Mid-Hudson News learned about the health situation on Monday.

The county said there is no indication that the employee contracted the virus at the restaurant or impacted anyone else.

The infected individual worked at the casino restaurant on November 26 from 1:50 p.m. to 9:50 p.m.; November 27 between 1:50 p.m. and 10 p.m.; and November 28 between 1:50 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.

“After learning that an employee at Cellaio tested positive for COVID-19, we initiated and completed contact tracing, identified and notified close contacts who immediately quarantined, and completed a deep cleaning of the restaurant, which was also closed for a period of time,” a spokesperson said in  written statement. “We were also able to determine that the employee followed all health and safety protocols while on property, which included wearing a mask at all times.”

The spokesperson said, “The health and safety of our guests, employees and the community are our top priority and we will continue to ensure our stringent procedures, which were implemented based on guidance from the CDC, as well as local and state health officials, are followed.”
