PORT JERVIS – It has been three years since the announcement that upgrades would be made to the Port Jervis Metro-North train station and they have been underway for some time.

That work is continuing despite the massive cash shortfall because of the coronavirus pandemic, said railroad President Cathy Rinaldi.

“The Port Jervis station upgrades are underway. I am not sure of the exact timeframe for the completion of those upgrades, but they are underway. They are not affected by the capital program issues with respect to the ‘20-‘24 capital program,” she said.

Chief among those upgrades is the first-ever handicapped accessibility at the Port Jervis station.
