LAKE HUNTINGTON – An event at The Nutshell bar at 6692 Route 52 in Lake Huntington has resulted in at least six COVID-19 positive infections since the middle of November.

Sullivan County Public Health Services determined that individual, who subsequently tested positive for the virus, attended the gathering during their infectious period.

Health officials are advising anyone who was at that bar on November 14 into the morning of November 15 may have been exposed.

“Reports indicate few to no attendees were wearing masks, so many people may have been exposed,” said Public Health Director Nancy McGraw.

She said if someone thinks they have been exposed and develops symptoms, they should self-quarantine for 14 days and call their doctor if symptoms develop. They can also call the county health department at 845-292-5910.

The State Health Department has been told by the owner of The Nutshell that the business is closed and will remain shuttered for at least the rest of the year.
