ORANGEBURG – A South Nyack man has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting death in the area of Main and Franklin streets in Nyack Sunday evening.

Orangetown Police charged Wendy Jean, 26, with killing Gregory Dubuisson, 35, of Nyack. Jean was also charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities did not offer a motive for the shooting, but an eyewitness said an argument spilled outside of a bar around 7 p.m. and Jean pulled out a gun and shot Dubuisson.

“Our community is heartbroken right now,” Nyack Mayor Don Hammond said on Monday. He said the victim had recently lost his father.

Jean was arraigned virtually and remanded to the Rockland County Jail pending a future court appearance.
