SAUGERTIES – A 31-year-old Catskill man was arrested by Saugerties Police following a personal injury motor vehicle crash on Malden Turnpike.

When Saugerties Police arrived on the scene in the area of 104 Malden Turnpike around 9 p.m., they found the driver had gotten out of the vehicle before the arrival of emergency services.

An investigation determined that Eric Duncan, whose license was suspended for prior offenses, was intoxicated at the time he was driving and crashed, and admitted to officers he was drinking alcohol before driving.

He was treated at the scene and transported to Health Alliance Hospital Broadway Campus in Kingston.

Duncan refused to submit to a chemical test.

He is scheduled to appear in Saugerties Town Court next month to answer the charges.
