POUGHKEEPSIE – Two individuals were arrested on Main Street in Poughkeepsie early Friday morning for having an illegal gun in their possession.  The men were pulled over by police at 12:20 a.m. for a traffic stop near 472 Main Street.

As a result of the traffic stop, officers found a loaded .40 caliber Sig Sauer P250 semi-automatic handgun.  Kareem Tissiera, 41, and John Page, 20, were both charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon.

Both men were held pending arraignment in city court.  It was the second firearm seized over a 13-hour period in the city.

Mayor Rob Rolison praised the efforts of the police for both seizures.  “This was another example of the bravery of our Officers.  Taking guns off the streets and out of the hands of dangerous individuals is a top focus for our police department.”
