TUXEDO – Republican congressional hopeful Chele Farley has conceded defeat to incumbent Democrat Sean Patrick Maloney in the 18th New York District race.

She called the campaign “an incredible journey” and said she is “seriously considering” running again in two years. But, for now, she said she needs time “to reflect with my family before making any final decisions.”

Farley continued her campaign rhetoric, though. “The battle to preserve our free-market capital economy continues. We must remain vigilant against those on the far left who wish to take our country down the dark road towards socialism.”

A staunch supporter of President Trump, she said he “deserves a great amount of credit for the rapid development of the (COVID-19) vaccine, a feat that only could be possible in a country and economy as free as ours.”

This was Farley’s second campaign loss. She ran against Democratic US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand in her last election.
