Laundromat doubled as front for criminal activity, police say

KINGSTON – Armed with a search warrant, Kingston Police raided the East O’Reilly Street Laundromat in the city on November 16 following an investigation into the sale of marijuana and untaxed cigarettes.

Police arrested the owner, Joseph Rapp, 71, on a felony charge of criminal possession of marijuana.

Seized in the raid were a large amount of marijuana, untaxed cigarettes, processed THC edibles, business records, and over $16,000 in cash.

The Kingston Building Department posted the premises for several code violations.

The investigation is continuing.
