SAUGERTIES – A Rockland County woman sustained injuries when her vehicle, a 2009 Honda CRV, failed to stop at the railroad crossing on Ulster Avenue in the Village of Saugerties crashing through the warning gate, running directly into the northbound CSX freight train.
Saugerties Police said Esther Lee, 35, of Montebello, was transported to the Health Alliance Hospital Broadway Campus in Kingston and later transferred to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Lee’s vehicle and the crossing gate sustained heavy damage in the late Friday night incident.
The police investigation is continuing with charges against Lee pending.
