RED HOOK – A 75-year-old Red Hook woman was killed on Sunday, November 8 when she was involved in a three-car crash.

State Police said the 7:45 a.m. accident occurred on Route 9G just north of West Market Street/Route 199 in the Town of Red Hook.

Troopers said the investigation shows Dino Macaluso, 54, of Saugerties was driving a 2005 GMC Envoy northbound on Route 9G when he entered the southbound and struck two vehicles.

Both southbound vehicles were slowing down for a red light at Route 9G and West Market Street intersection.

Macaluso first struck a 2010 Toyota Prius head-on before colliding with a 2020 Hyundai Elantra behind the Prius.

Sheryl Griffin, the driver of the Prius, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner.

Macaluso was transported to Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck and the driver of the Elantra was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital Poughkeepsie, both with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
