MONTICELLO – At 104 years old, Agnes Van Put never flew in a helicopter, until now.
She mentioned her bucket list item to Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther recently.
“We were talking about different things she had done through her years, things she had seen. One day she said to me, ‘you know, I’d really like to go for a helicopter ride’.” And that she did on Monday.
Gunther arranged for a 40-minute ride over Sullivan County. She flew over her house, Bethel Woods, and the Resorts World Casino.
When she stepped out of the chopper, she proclaimed, “I loved it.”
The aircraft was provided at no charge by Flight Services in Linden, New Jersey.
