ALBANY – Governor Andrew Cuomo is ready to do battle with the federal government over information it wants on every person inoculated for the coronavirus when the serum is available.

The governor said Washington wants the name, birthdate, ethnicity and ID of every individual and that, he said is a way for the administration to target certain people.

“Why do you need the ID for a public health purpose, who are you going to share it with, how do you protect the privacy of it, or are you coming up with a whole new ID system for people in this country?” the governor questioned. But, I’m not going to give information that could be used to deport people and put them in a situation of either get a vaccine, but to get a vaccine, you have to give people information so they can deport you.”

Cuomo also said under the government’s plans to distribute and vaccinate, it will be impossible to inoculate hundreds of millions of people in a timely fashion.
