KINGSTON – It was supposed to be another session of the City of Kingston’s Public Safety Task Force when the virtual session went awry.

The meeting to discuss the reimagining of the police department was hacked, said Mayor Steven Noble.

Unfortunately, it was infiltrated by a couple of hackers who disrupted the meeting and made it so that we couldn’t have our reimaging public safety task force town hall,” he said.

IT consultants spent Thursday working on the city’s system to prevent a cyber-attack from happening again.
