Wappinger man charged with stabbing with scissors

WAPPINGER – A Wappinger man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a victim several times with a pair of scissors during a verbal argument when the victim attempted to walk away.

State Police said the male victim sustained several non-life-threatening wounds and was choked to the point of unconsciousness by the suspect, 31-year-old Michael Valentin.

The incident occurred around 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, October 25 at a location at Scarborough Lane in the Town of Wappinger.

The victim was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie for treatment.

Valentin was charged with assault, criminal possession of weapon and strangulation, all as felonies.
