KINGSTON – The rate of positivity of new COVID-19 cases in Ulster County has dropped since last week and County Executive Patrick Ryan said that is good news.

Ryan noted just several days ago, the rate was over two percent.

“In the last 48 hours, we have tested 1,835 residents and we have had only 15 new positives from within that, so that is a .82 percent, well under one percent new infection rate over the last 48 hours,” he said.

Ryan also said there were nine false positive tests among the residents at Woodland Pond adult center in New Paltz out of a dozen that were conducted recently. In the second round, one tested positive and two were pending.
