KINGSTON – The new Kingston City Land Bank has made early progress with the acquisition of its first homes to be placed back on the tax rolls.

Mayor Steven Noble said the next step is to rehabilitate the residences.

“We have acquired three homes from the City of Kingston and paid the back taxes on those homes to be able to get them renovated. We are currently looking for contractors for that work and you can find that request for proposal on the www.KingstonCityLandBank.org website,” he said.

The purpose of the land bank is to facilitate the acquisition, rehabilitation, and sale of housing stock to provide adequate homes for additional Kingston city residents.
