New Hampshire man arrested for aggravated DWI twice in one week

TOWN OF WALLKILL – A New Boston, New Hampshire man was arrested twice in one week on charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated.

October 5 at about 1:10 p.m., State Police responded to Garnet Health in the Town of Wallkill for a report of a hit-and-run in the parking lot.

The vehicle took off and when a trooper attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver, later identified as Jonathan McCormick, 61, refused to comply and drove onto Route 17 westbound. After a pursuit at speeds of up to 80 mph, he was taken into custody.

He had a blood alcohol content of .21 and was charged with aggravated DWI, reckless driving, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle. Police also found two semi-automatic rifles in his car and he was charged with failing to register a weapon.

The operator of the car that was hit declined an accident report because of minimal damage to their car.

McCormick was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Wallkill Town Court.

On October 7 at about 9:05 p.m., State Police responded to Roue 208 in the Town of Montgomery for a report of an erratic driver.

Troopers located the vehicle driving erratically. When car was stopped, the driver was identified as Jonathan McCormick. He was determined to be drunk with a BAC of .24.

He was charged with aggravated DWI and released on an appearance ticket.
