DUTCHESS COUNTY – The Arlington School District, one of the largest in New York, was prepared to begin a hybrid schedule for students in 6-12 grades on Tuesday, October 6 but the date is being pushed back until November.

Sources have told Mid Hudson News that 6th graders in the district were set to begin orientation on Monday, October 5, and the hybrid classes for all students were scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 6.  The announcement from the district, expected to be sent today, Wednesday, September 30, will announce that hybrid learning for students in grades 6 through 12 will start on November 9.  Elementary students are still scheduled to begin the hybrid learning schedule on Monday, October 5.
District staff said that the district is trying to increase the amount of live instruction for the students when the hybrid learning begins.  Before this change, the plan called for kids to get one day of classes in the physical school with two-three days of independent (remote) learning.  Several social media groups established by parents have posts where they expressed their disappointment with the limited in-person learning and the district has allegedly decided to revise the plan to increase the amount of live-learning time.
Additional details will be published as they become available.
