Suspect in Poughkeepsie homicide sought

City of Poughkeepsie Police are seeking the identity of the man in the picture.

POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie Police are seeking help in identifying a subject caught on surveillance video about the time that a 15-year-old Poughkeepsie High School student was shot in the head near the intersection of Main and N. Clinton Streets.

Several people that witnessed the shooting described the suspect to police.  On Monday evening, police were looking for the shooter who was described as “A black male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a winter jacket with fur on it.”  The suspect was also

reported to be wearing grey sweatpants with “Champion” on the left leg, and black and red sneakers.  The suspect was last seen fleeing north on Clinton Street.

Detective Lieutenant Matt Clark said, “We are asking anyone who witnessed this murder or who knows about this murder to contact the City of Poughkeepsie Police at 845-451-7577.”
