WHITE PLAINS – Two Mount Vernon residents have been sentenced for possessing forged United States passport cards in their home as part of a scheme that included using fraudulently obtained credit cards to steal from The TJX Companies, Inc. stores including TJMaxx, Marshalls and Home Goods.

Hassan Miller, 47, and Dawn Anderson, 49, were each sentenced to 1 ½ to 4 ½ years in state prison.

In addition to the forged passport cards seized from their home was the device used to make cards.

The forged passport cards, bearing the identities of victims, were used by the pair and others arrested to assume the identity of their victims and open up new TJX Rewards credit cards and charge merchandise for which they never paid.

As a result, they will each have to make restitution of $20,617.

The scheme operated from 2017 to 2019.

Cases against three other co-defendants are pending.
