PEEKSKILL – A large group of people lobbied outside Senator Charles Schumer’s Peekskill office on Monday, calling on him to do everything he can to block a Supreme Court appointment before the January presidential inauguration.

Republican leadership in the Senate wants to confirm President Trump’s nominee now, but the group at Schumer’s office urged the Democrat Minority Leader to fight that.

Courtney Williams, a member of Peekskill Progressives, was among those at Schumer’s office.

“We want him to do all the things that are within his power as a senator, but we also want him to think as an American and as an activist and to make sure that he is doing his level best to protect our Democracy,” she said.

Megan Glander, Schumer’s regional director, said he “stood with AOC and made the fervent promise to use every tool in the toolbox, but he needs all of you and all of America to be motivated and mobilize.”
