BETHEL – Town of Bethel Constable Darryl Yates was remembered on Monday as a man committed to his family and community.
He died on September 16 at age 53.
He began his law enforcement career as a police officer in the Town of Woodridge and then served as Bethel constable since 2012.
Yates, along with his partner, Officer John Panos, was presented with a citizenship award from the Town of Bethel for saving a drowning man from the waters of White Lake in 2011.
