Troopers remove 39 impaired motorists from Hudson Valley roads

HUDSON VALLEY – The New York State Police from Troop K issued 335 speeding tickets from 5:00 pm Friday through 3:00 am this morning.  Troop K covers Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, and Columbia counties.

During the same period, Troopers in Troop F, covering Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster, and Greene counties issued 246 speeding tickets.

Troop K issued 18 distracted driving tickets and Troop F issued 9 tickets for the same offense.  Troop K patrols also cited 3 for child-restraint violations, while Troop F patrols issued 19 child-restraint violations.

Enforcing the new “move-over” laws, Troop K patrols cited 9 for violating the law, and Troop F patrols issued 13 citations for the violation.

Fifteen impaired motorists were removed from Hudson Valley roadways by Troopers in Troop K while Troop F removed 27 motorists for operating a vehicle while impaired.
