GOSHEN – Assemblyman Colin Schmitt (R – New Windsor) has secured $50,000 for the Goshen Central School District to purchase and install an aviation, drone flight, and cybersecurity lab at Goshen High School.

The funds will provide what is needed to add on to the recently constructed Science Technology Engineering Art Math Lab, or STEM lab.

Several STEM courses were developed in order to fully utilize the new teaching space and will include hands-on learning in computer, science, robotics, engineering, graphics and spatial skills, computer-aided design, coding, and more.

The state funding will cover 90 percent of the cost of the project.

“We are proud of or new STEAM lab at Goshen High School and look forward to adding the Aviation, Drone Flight, and Cybersecurity lab with the grant money secured by Assemblyman Schmitt,” said Superintendent Daniel Connor.
