ALBANY – Jobs fell by 12.5 percent statewide in August, the state labor department reported on Thursday.
The Orange-Rockland-Westchester region suffered the greatest loss at 12.7 percent.
That was followed by Sullivan County at 12.4 percent.
Columbia County lost 12 percent of its jobs in August.
A total of 10.5 percent job loss was felt in the Dutchess-Putnam Metropolitan Division.
Ulster County 6.9 percent of its jobs while Greene County’s job loss was 6.5 percent.
