State Police arrest two suspected of dealing heroin

NEWBURGH – On September 15, at approximately 7:36 p.m., State Police stopped a car on I-87, at the Newburgh exit, for several vehicle and traffic violations.  While interviewing the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established.

The 37-year old driver, Terrence Hulse, and passenger Chanel Watkins, 29, both of Monticello, were found to be in possession of approximately 20.4 grams of heroin.

The pair were taken into custody, transported, and processed at the State Police barracks in Newburgh where they were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell 3rd degree; both Class B Felonies.

Hulse and Watkins were both released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Newburgh Court on November 2, 2020, at 5:30 p.m.
