Man with six DWI convictions arrested again for DWI

NEW WINDSOR – Town police announced the arrest of 54-year-old Michael Burgher of Washingtonville for Felony DWI on September 12, 2020.

New Windsor police officials say that Burgher has 4 prior Felony DWI convictions and 2 prior Misdemeanor convictions for DWI. He was arraigned before Judge Calderin and because of his multiple Felony convictions and was sent to Orange County Jail without bail.

Since the Labor Day weekend, New Windsor Police has made 12 DWI related arrests.  In addition to Burgher, 39-year-old Andre Mcleod was also charged with felony DWI.  Police also arrested five individuals on misdemeanor DWI charges, two were arrested for misdemeanor Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, and one other arrest is pending lab results.  Two other men were arrested for driving with licenses suspended for DWI offenses.
