What is CBG Oil?

There is an array of cannabis products available today, and CBG oil is one of them. CBG oil is CBG mixed with a carrier oil, and depending on the product, other ingredients like terpenes. CBG is the acronym for cannabigerol, which is one among other cannabinoids like CBDA, CBN and CBD in cannabis and hemp. CBG is extracted from young cannabis plants so is only present in small amounts. Since it is extracted before the conversion process leading to THC production begins, CBG is not a psychoactive compound. It takes a large amount of plant material to obtain CBG in any significant quantity, usually making CBG oil is usually more expensive than other cannabinoid products (for now). There are many products available today that have CBG oil, and the product availability continues to grow.

CBG Bioavailability

Bioavailability is a term for the degree to which a compound or other substance becomes available in the bloodstream after product use. CBG oil is used in a growing list of product forms that include some that are swallowed and others applied topically. The CBG oil, CBG tinctures and CBG capsules taken by mouth have high bioavailability. CBD wax that is vaporized and inhaled will also have high bioavailability. CBG creams and lotions and other topicals have low bioavailabity because the compound does not penetrate the skin.

How to Apply CBG Oils?

There is a growing list of CBG products and products containing CBG appearing in the marketplace. The CBG oil uses include CBG oil or tinctures, capsules, creams, ointments, lotions, powder, gummies and bath bombs to mention a few. Some CBG oil products, especially tinctures and capsules, are a mixture of CBD+CBG because each works on different receptors in the endocannabinoid system. This gives exponential benefits to users.

 1. A CBD+CBG tincture or CBG oil with flavorings is taken by mouth. Place a drop or two of the CBG oil under the tongue, and hold it there for approximately 90 seconds before swallowing. This speeds up absorption into the bloodstream. It can be taken two or more times per day.

 2. The CBG oil capsule or soft gel capsule is taken by mouth also. They are sold with different doses of CBG per pill. CBD+CBG capsules and gel caps are also available.

 3. CBG oil lotion, cream or ointment is applied directly to a painful joint or other inflamed skin area.

 4. CBG wax can be heated and inhaled (dabbing). It is a concentrate so should be used sparingly. The wax is also available as a mix of CBD and CBG.

CBG Oil Pros and Cons

Pros

 1. All forms of products made with CBG oil are easy to use.

Though CBG is just beginning to become popular among other cannabinoids, it is already available in many different forms. Each form is simple to use or apply.

 2. CBG oils are non-intoxicating, so products can be used any time of day or night.

CBG oil is available THC-free or with a small amount of THC. Each product is non-psychoactive. You can safely use them at home or work.

 3. CBG oils are plant-based.

People who prefer all natural products appreciate the fact CBG oil is plant-based. Even when other ingredients are present, most or all are also natural or organic in high quality CBG products, i.e. olive oil, natural terpenes, flower extract, etc.

 4. CBG oil is transportable in most forms.

CBG oil and CBG oil products can be carried with you for ease of use throughout the day. Many products come in different sizes.

Cons

 1. The CBG oil for sale is not government regulated.

It is important to buy CBG oil from a brand with an excellent reputation. Since labeling is not subject to government oversight, many companies obtain certifications, like from the U.S. Hemp Authority, or have products third-party tested to provide assurance to customers.

 2. CBG oil produces very low or no psychoactive effects.

Many CBG oil products are 100-percent THC free. Some products may have some THC, but it is always a very small amount. The result is that all CBG products are non-psychoactive.

 3. Significantly more medical research is needed concerning the ability of CBG products to deliver health benefits.

Since the use of CBG oil in various products is relatively new, claims of its ability to improve health conditions are mostly anecdotal at this point. However, many people have said they have used CBG oil for pain and CBG oil for sleep assistance and found relief.
