MONTICELLO – Empire Resorts Inc., the parent company of Resorts World and Monticello Raceway is receiving a $150 million cash infusion from Genting Malaysia Bhd, the casino operating conglomerate.

Resorts World World and other New York casinos were forced to close in March of this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Only in recent weeks have the gaming facilities been allowed to reopen – on a limited scale.

According to Reuters, the funds will be used by Empire to fulfill short-term debt obligations within the next six months.
