POUGHKEEPSIE – Gunfire woke Corlies Manor residents up around 6:00 am Friday and sent one person to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

City of Poughkeepsie dispatchers received several calls Friday morning for shots fired in the vicinity of Muldowney Circle.  Responding officers found a 21-year-old male at the location with gunshot wounds to his leg and torso.  Officers applied their department-issued tourniquets to the wounds prior to the arrival of medics from Mobile Life Support Services.  The victim was taken to a Poughkeepsie hospital via ambulance.

Police Captain Richard Wilson said the incident is under investigation by the detective bureau and asked for the public’s help.  “City Police are requesting anyone who may have witnessed or has any information regarding this shooting to please call the City of Poughkeepsie TIPS LINE at 451-7577.”
