KINGSTON – The ongoing Kingston Point Beach ADA Accessibility Project is forcing the city to close the bathrooms and changing rooms for construction until October 8.
The project work includes bathroom access ramps and renovation of the changing rooms and is being done with support from the NYS DEC through a River Access grant of $45,820, which also funded an accessible beach ramp and new accessible parking.
There will be a handicapped-accessible porta-potty on site for the length of the construction.
The Kingston Point Beach ADA Accessibility Improvements Project will improve accessibility for swimming and recreation as well as educational interpretation at Kingston’s existing swimming beach on the Hudson River.  The project will create accessible pathways for people with disabilities to existing parking and amenities such as the bathrooms and changing rooms.
