SAUGERTIES – Police Chief Joseph Sinagra has announced the second arrest in two days of Christine Diliberto on Obstruction of Governmental Administration charges, Saturday morning.  Diliberto was previously arrested for the same behavior on Friday, September 4.

Chief Sinagra said that on September 5th, 2020, between the hours of 12:49 AM and 2:52 AM, 41-year-old Christine Diliberto contacted the Town of Saugerties Police Department emergency number a total of nine times and Ulster County 911 a total of four times. None of the calls were related to an emergency of any type.

According to Sinagra, all of the calls “Were purely frivolous and harassing nature preventing police dispatchers and officers the ability to respond and address emergency calls for service.”

Citing Diliberto’s extensive arrest record, Chief Sinagra said “Miss Diliberto has issues that could benefit from treatment but Ulster County does not have the services need.  Ulster County needs a stabilization Center modeled after the facility in Dutchess County so that individuals can get the treatment they need as opposed to incarceration.”

Diliberto was issued a police appearance ticket, scheduled to appear in the Village of Saugerties Justice Court on September 14th, 2020 at 6:00 PM.

Due to her dangerous level of intoxication, Diliberto was transported to the Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley’s Broadway Campus Hospital for further medical care.
