WALLKILL The Town of Wallkill has issued mandatory water restrictions for customers in the Consolidated Water District due to operational issues that reduced water production rates. The town did not elaborate the nature of those issues.

Supervisor Frank DenDanto III said the town “recognizes this inconvenience and appreciates customers’ cooperation during this time.”

Among the water use restrictions are no filling or topping off pools; no refilling of fountains or decorative ponds; no water for irrigation, lawn watering, or other outdoor use unless via a handheld watering can; and no vehicle washing and driveway washing.

DenDanto said customers should also conserve water use inside their homes. “It is important to note that this is only a supply issue, and at no time has water quality been impacted or compromised,” he said.
