NEW ROCHELLE – City Manager Charles Strome, III has created a Police Review Committee that will examine several issues.
The commission, established following a gubernatorial executive order and New Rochelle City Council request, will conduct a comprehensive review of current police force deployments, strategies, policies, procedures, and practices, and develop a plan to improve those areas.
To facilitate the review and formulate a plan, Strome said the policing review committee will examine the use of force policy/training, data disclosure and transparency, community engagement, oversight/discipline/complaint procedures, equipment, and other issues.
