Yonkers man charged with attempted murder in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE – A 24-year-old Yonkers man is being held on an attempted murder charge in connection with a July 20 shooting incident.

Stephen Hugh is alleged to have opened fire at several people while in a moving vehicle just before 10 p.m. near Horton Avenue and Brook Street in New Rochelle. A total of four shots were fired with no injuries reported.

Investigation resulted in the identification of Hugh as the suspect, who was arrested around 5 p.m. on Friday, August 14.

The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and Yonkers Police assisted New Rochelle Police in the investigation, which remains open.
