POUGHKEEPSIE – Two men were wounded late Monday afternoon during an altercation at 25 Hammersley Avenue in the City of Poughkeepsie.

Responding police officers and emergency personnel responded found a 34-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.  An unidentified witness says that the man was involved in a fight with another person.

That victim was transported to a local hospital.

Police Captain Richard Wilson said that a short time later, another victim arrived at a separate hospital with wounds from an altercation.  “It appears that both victims were involved in the same altercation but they are not cooperating with the investigation,” said Wilson.  The second victim is a 43-year-old male.

Captain Wilson said that the investigation is ongoing.
