POUGHKEEPSIE – A one-car accident on Church Street (eastbound arterial) in Poughkeepsie this morning has all three lanes closed.
A vehicle traveling east struck the corner of the building at 187 Church Street, igniting a fire at the building. The car then rolled over and landed on its roof in the road. The vehicle operator was transported to a local hospital.
City police are investigating the accident while Poughkeepsie firefighters await Central Hudson’s arrival to shut down power so the fire can be extinguished.
