NEW ROCHELLE – A man who was waiting for his car in the valet area of 360 Huguenot Street in New Rochelle was assaulted early Saturday afternoon and police are investigating.

The victim sustained a laceration across the right side of his face as he waited outside the lobby of the building at around 12:10 p.m.

Police said the victim was vague when interviewed, and it is believed the attack was not random.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for the wound that was not considered life-threatening.

The suspect is described as a black man, 20 to 25 years of age, with thin build, about five feet, seven inches tall, wearing all black clothing.

He fled on foot, westbound on Huguenot Street.
