KINGSTON – Congressman Antonio Delgado (D, NY-19) met on Friday with administration and staff of Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) to discuss their experiences during the pandemic and public transit needs of the county.
During the roundtable he discussed the impact of the nearly $5 million federal grant from the CARES Act that will allow transit services to continue during the pandemic by offsetting the financial losses the agency is experiencing because of the financial impacts of the crisis.
“In our rural communities, public transit, and specifically rural buses ae critically important to our local economies and mobility in the upstate region,” the congressman said.
