Search continues for Hudson for bridge jumper

MIDDLE HOPE – First responders searched the Hudson River just north of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge following a report of a man jumping off the bridge.

The man was believed to have jumped around 7:45 p.m. Friday and the fire department units were called out to search the waters later in the evening. Middle Hope firefighters were assisted by Newburgh City firefighters with no sightings reported.

The search was called off around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.  Shortly after noontime on Saturday, the search boats were on the Ulster County shoreline near Milton.
