NEW WINDSOR – First responders recovered the body of a man in the Hudson River off Plum Point in New Windsor Sunday morning.

Cornwall-on-Hudson firefighters retrieved the body before 9 a.m.

Authorities were first notified of a man who jumped off the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge on Friday evening.

Middle Hope and Newburgh City firefighters took to the river but suspended operations at around 1:30 Saturday morning. The search was resumed during the day.

A short while after search efforts were resumed on Sunday morning, a body was spotted off New Windsor and a short while later it was recovered.
