KIAMESHA LAKE – Resorts World Catskills is ready to welcome gamblers back to their Town of Thompson casino once they are given the go-ahead from the governor.

The facility has been closed down ever since the coronavirus pandemic hit New York months ago.

Casino Vice President for Government Affairs Meghan Taylor said Thursday that all COVID-19 protocols are in place including customer scans and temperature checks, face coverings, and hand sanitizing.

Taylor also said other protections are in place. “We have upgraded out HVAC system, which we know is a very important feature that the casino has announced and we have upgraded all of our filters to MERV-15 filters and here in this facility in the Catskills, there is zero re-circulation air; there is 100 percent fresh air all throughout the facility,” she said.

Taylor also said all employees will have been briefed on all protocols before the facility reopens.
