ALBANY – State Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther is a registered nurse who believes in the importance to follow all protocols to avoid catching or spreading the coronavirus.

That includes wearing a face covering, something for which the state health department has tightened its regulations, she noted.

“The agency updated its emergency regulations to include a maximum of a $1,000 fine for businesses that allow patrons to enter or remain on their premises without a mask or practicing social distancing,” she said. “The emergency measure also subjects non-compliant patrons to a $1,000 fine,” she said. “We all care about each and everyone’s safety, so please wear a mask.”

Despite the regulation, some people are still maintaining that wearing face coverings do nothing except impinge upon their rights.
