KINGSTON – Scenic Hudson wants to hear what residents of the City of Kingston, Town of Ulster and greater Ulster County area have to say about plans for 520-acres of riverfront property the organization acquired last year.

A collaboration with the State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, the City of Kingston and Town of Ulster, plans are to develop a new state park for nature exploration, outdoor recreation and learning about local history.

Scenic Hudson will hold meetings in several online formats, along with interviews with stakeholders, to facilitate dialogues with residents to understand how the future park can help realize community connectivity as well as recreational and economic benefits.

The first online public engagement session will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29. It will include short virtual video tours of the existing landscape, a presentation on visions and opportunities for the site’s future, insights from local community leaders and a public Q&A.

For information about participating in the event, people should visit www.QuarryWatersParkinfo.org.
