Schmitt honors G&C in Goshen

GOSHEN –  Assemblyman Colin Schmitt (R,C,I- New Windsor) has a small business of the month appreciation program designed to show appreciation for a local small business in his district each month. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, this program was put on pause for a couple of months. For the month of July, Assemblyman Schmitt recognized G&C Barber Shop of Goshen. G&C Barber Shop is owned by two brothers, Gio and Calogero, who immigrated to the United States from Italy and started their own business.

Assemblyman Schmitt stated, “As businesses start to re-open from COVID-19 shutdowns I am glad to recognize G&C Barber Shop in Goshen as our small business of the month. The story of John and Carl is the epitome of the American Dream. These two brothers came to the United States from Italy with a vision and through hard work and determination, they accomplished their goals. Despite being totally shut down during COVID they have taken all necessary precautions, re-opened when allowed, and are back to serving our community. I always look forward to coming here to get my haircut and being greeted with the friendly smiles and professionalism from both John and Carl. They have successfully owned this small business in Goshen for many years and we are proud to honor them today!”

Gio and Calogero Zodiaco, owners of G&C Barber Shop stated, “I am very grateful to Assemblyman Schmitt for recognizing G&C Barber Shop as the Small Business of the Month for July. It is important to highlight the hard work of small businesses especially now during the ongoing pandemic. We are happy to service Goshen and surrounding areas with fresh haircuts. Assemblyman Schmitt is a huge supporter of small businesses and we are very proud to receive this recognition from him!”
