Metro-North resumes accepting cash on trains

POUGHKEEPSIE – During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Metro-North temporarily stopped accepting cash payments due to health precautions.

On July 15, the public transit system resumed accepting cash payments onboard all of their trains.

Customers can also use cash to purchase tickets at Metro-North ticket vending machines (TVMs).

Tickets can always be purchased electronically using MTA eTix  https://new.mta.info/mta-etix, directly from your smartphone!

Metro-North customers and employees are required to wear a face mask or face covering on all Metro-North property and trains.
