KINGSTON – With the coronavirus pandemic showing no signs of letting up, it is taking its toll, not only in terms of human life, but business and the economy.

To help local businesses and organizations survive, Ulster County Executive Patrick Ryan has announced formation of the Equity Loan Program, a $2 million fund for low-interest loans.

“It is up to $100,000. The interest rates are very low and very competitive. It is a pretty flexible set of things you can use the money for and it is minority and women-owned profit and not-for-profit employers with less than 20 employees and have not already accessed federally back programs,” he said.

Ryan also said the county Industrial Development Agency’s business grant program, offering up to $5,000 per business, is launching today.
