Galligan to lead bar association

LIBERTY – The Sullivan County Bar Association has announced the election and swearing of its new officers for 2020-2021.

Acting Sullivan County District Attorney Meagan Galligan was elected and sworn in as the Association’s President.  Other officers include Vice President Amy Davidoff, Assistant General Counsel to the Greater Hudson Valley Health System/Garnett; Secretary Troy Johnstone, an Associate in the Law Office of Brian P. Rourke, P.C; and Treasurer Sandra Heck, Law Clerk to the Honorable Judge Mark Meddaugh.

The Board of Directors for this term includes local attorneys Jared Hart, Cheryl McCausland, John Theadore, Jacqueline Ricciani, Martin Rutberg, Robert Lander, Zachary Kelson, Frank Felleman, Stephen Lungen and Ivan Kalter.

Association President Meagan Galligan said, “It is an honor to have been chosen by my peers to lead them as President of the Sullivan County Bar Association. I look forward to a positive and productive 2020-2021 term.” Among the initiatives Galligan plans with the new leadership slate is the coordination of resources for attorneys who have seen a substantial change in the nature of their practice as a result of coronavirus pandemic. She said they will also focus on providing continuing education seminars for lawyers, including anti-bias and equal opportunity courses.

Galligan thanked outgoing President Danielle Jose-Decker for her service to the members of the Bar Association.
