Patrizio, defeats Klein in three of five third-party primaries

GOSHEN – Democrat Orange County Family Court judge candidate Maria Patrizio defeated incumbent Republican Carol Klein in three of five third-party primaries.

The Orange County Board of Elections certified the results of the June 23 voting on Friday, July 10.

Patrizio, a supervising attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Orange County, won the Independence Party, Working Families and Green Party primaries.

Klein took the Libertarian and Conservative Party primaries. She has served on the for 20 years.

Patrizio garnered over 60 percent of the Independence Party vote despite the party’s endorsement of Klein.

“My overwhelming success in five third-party primaries, and my victory in three of them, is validation that my vision of a more kind, compassionate and efficient family court makes sense to Orange County voters,” said Patrizio.
